Baptidzo does not reflect an act or a mode but a state, a result, state, or effect caused accomplished by any of several possible acts. We are not saying that Baptidzo, or any other verb, not an action word. A verb will tend to convey the action, but in itself this fact does that a particular word expresses a specific mode or kind of action.

Let me illustrate. The word expresses a state burial or a result or condition or having completed, not actions. It has the general sense of envelopment of the earth. This wrapping "The idea makes it a perfect illustration for our needs. However, we do not tell us how this state of sheathing or burial took place. Maybe a shovel was used to dig a hole and the person was lowered into the grave, perhaps a backhoe was used to cut on a tombstone and a machine lowered the person, perhaps a ravine was located and the person has been placed in it and covered with earth. Indeed, perhaps the person was "Buried at sea" and therefore fell into a watery grave. However, many other acts are available, perhaps the deceased had been dragged laterally in a tomb hewn in the rock or lying in a natural cave (as was our Lord). Perhaps it was raised on a platform and he "buried" as was common with the Indians. Or perhaps the person was adrift on a boat in the night and thus meets the criteria for burial in this culture. Everything is different "acts" as possible in a grave, bury the word discerning none of them, but welcoming everyone in his direction. And yet if we say that: "The man buried the body." The word buried, would itself be considered as an action word, actually a transitive verb. So the problem is not that Baptidzo is not used for transmitting action, but only the specific mode of action is unknown, because it is not inherent in the speech itself.

Let use the above illustration to demonstrate the difficulty of translating a word from a language with a word of another language. Take "bury" to be a word from a foreign language and the original word behind each of the underlined words above. It is your duty to translate each sentence above. What "one" word do you use? Under the given circumstances, seven of the eight translations given above would be of questionable accuracy. What you could do is throw in the towel and transliteration of the word "buried" in English and use it in all cases This allows the reader to make the mental transition in the sense, the conclusion of fashion in the context. This is what the translator Baptidzo is forced to do.

We therefore conclude Baptidzo tells you an action took place, however, do not say what action. Instead, its meaning is found in the outcome of this action, change of state results, report, or performed an effect that occurred as a result of this action.
