Imagine a family, all sitting around the television, perhaps the only TV in the house. Dad holds the remote control, which everyone called "the clicker. The remote has only two functions. One function turns the TV off and on. Other changes channels, all 7 or 8 of them with a click of a button. Now try to imagine what the family watches. Are you imagine watching one the television classic 1970s?

In the 1970s most families had one or two televisions in the house, and the second set was usually stashed away from mom and dad bedroom, where they could watch the classic shows that children could not even look like Maude, no soap. The TVs in the house would show the same programs in black and white.

What keeps the family stuck these TVs that had only a handful of channels, a clicker old, and often no color? The TV classics 1970s, of course. There were so many family friendly shows in a variety of genres.

For families that enjoyed comedies, the 1970s have some of the sitcoms of the most memorable. Families in the '70 's learned about families in the 1950s, looking the popular "Happy Days" and its equally popular spin-off Laverne and Shirley. Families with children enjoyed comedies with a social conscience as All in the Family, Maude, Barney Miller or Mash. The 1970 Classic sitcoms have addressed social issues of the day in poignant yet humorous way.

Families were also several different shows to choose from for their viewing pleasure. Classic variety shows such as The Donny and Marie Show and The Sonny and Cher Show was music, comedy sketches and popular guest stars each week.
